Meet Our Lesson Horses
-
Amigo
As one of our oldest here, Amigo loves his tiniest travelers the most. In his free time, you can find him stretched out in his pasture getting a good suntan. He is one of the trustiest steeds here at the farm and is of course, a farm favorite! Don’t let his little disposition fool you, he has a heart bigger than Texas!
-
Cutty
I seem to collect the redheaded horses! His name is extremely fitting and describes so much about him already. With a background as a cutting horse, Cutty wears many hats and excels in not only ranch riding and cutting work but also over fences as well! Cutty’s favorite thing to do is hang out or sing to Rue if he gets too far away! Fun fact about Cutty is that he is actually registered as a paint horse!
-
Coty (2003-December 2023)
Coty is built like a tank and has a heart of gold, as all of our horses do. Coty would be the horse I would want to trail or pleasure ride on, being that he is the size of a couch! From soaring over fences to jogging the speed of the turtle, he sure is a comfortable and pleasurable ride! In his spare time, you can find Coty napping under his favorite shade tree!
Coty left us in December of 2023, we believed he had aneurysm. He lived the majority of his life here with us and I’m so glad he was here until the end. RIP my big red friend, we will see you again.

Shiloh
Shiloh was born in my backyard when I was six years old! In her lifetime, she has accomplished many things! At one point in time, she could probably outrun and out jump any horse in the barn. If she lives even a fraction of how long her mom did (45 years), then she hasn’t even hit her best years yet! Believe it or not, Shiloh is actually an appaloosa! Check the right side of her neck when you come meet her!
-
Zoey
Zoey is a Quarter Horse that has seen more of North Carolina than any others of mine. She has been a school horse for St. Andrews University, Keystone Camp in Brevard and has now landed her forever home, here with me! With her western pleasure background, she is one smooth and slow ride! She is such a wonderful and tolerant teacher and in her spare time, you can find her fluttering her eyelashes at the boys across the pasture!
-
Kaddy
Kaddy is also a Quarter Horse that has been a school horse in many other places before landing with us! She has impeccable movement, the slowest canter and a wonderful jump. She is a blessing to have and LOVES a good forehead scratch. Her favorite thing to do is unlatch her stall door and sneak out for fresh morning clover!
-
Colbie
Fun Fact first this time: Colbie was my sweet 16th birthday present! We have been partners for quite some time, and he is more patient and willing now, more than ever. He is a gentle giant; loves every person and every animal he encounters. He is Percheron Cross and is best friends with Willow! Colbie does it all, and always loves his job!
-
Luke
Luke is also a gentle giant! He is an off the track thoroughbred that has a readable tattoo under his lip! If it wasn’t for the tattoo, no one would believe he ever raced. He has such a slow, effortless stride that has him floating across any arena! One of his favorite things to do is show you, his teeth!
-
Rue
Prepare yourself, this little pintaloosa is the cutest thing that runs through these pastures. “Baby Rue” as well call him, is the shortest pony but don’t let that fool you because he can clear jumps that most horses would flinch at. He is 17 hands in his mind and will do anything you ask, just always with a little sass! In his spare time, you can find Rue cleaning Cutty, looking for Cutty or “oinking” for him!
-
Willow
The mascot. The reason. The inspiration.
Willow is my personal horse and can be seen going around with a kid or two in her spare time. She could get ridden 3 times a day and still run to meet you at the gate for the 4th ride of the day. She is the most personable horse at the farm, will always be the first to greet you and would fall asleep with her head on your shoulder. Willow excels in ranch riding, bridleless riding and has started learning the hunter ring rules! If you sing to her, most of the time, she sings right back to you! Fun fact: Willow came from a killpen when she was 10 months old.
-
Pearl
Pearl is a gorgeous dapple grey mare that is a big green bean! Pearl had started her training in dressage but in the past few months, started learning about the hunter ring. One of her favorite things to do is swim around in the pond!
-
Elsa
Elsa is one of our newest additions to the farm! She is the smallest but probably the most brave. She is broke to ride and loves to be pampered like the queen she is! Her best friend is a burro names Josie and she loves to swim!
-
Mariposa
Mariposa is a very gentle, knowledgeable and patient girl. We joke about her anything but perfect front legs, they are as crooked as they can come but she will probably be the most sound horse! She loves to be braided with bows in her hair and you can find her with her best friends Euro and Halle when she’s not working!
-
Parker
Parker has an EXTENSIVE show record and was just retired from showing this past year. He has earned the right to never having to load up for the weekend, ever again! He is the STRONGEST horse on the farm and I’m still convinced that he would trot through a brick wall and never bat an eye lid. You can find him snuggled up with Luke anytime he isn’t being hacked around!
-
Euro
Euro is a fantastic ladies man! He’s tall, he’s handsome and he is a sweetheart. Now that we’ve convinced him there are not trolls in the ponds, he does enjoy swimming! He also loves his girlfriend, Halle Berry and could be found stuck to her like glue when he’s not being ridden or loved on!
-
Jam
You can never have too many personal horses right? And at some point, we all stop counting! Jam is phenomenal in every way possible and has the most beautiful tail you’ve ever seen! She truly believes that she is part whale, and can be found in the middle of the pond, everyday, in any weather! She is my girl and we’re so blessed to have her as part of the family!
-
Bentley
Bentley is owned by Kailyn Bayliss (the phenomenal kiddo in the picture with him). While KB is away in college, Bentley is staying in shape and bringing along the newest generation of riders. Bentley will be the first one to greet you at the gate, in high hopes it’s dinner time. KB has put such a great foundation on Bentley and he does a great job teaching everyone else. As you can tell by the picture, he LOVES to jump!
-
Halle Berry
Surely the sassiest for last! Halle Berry lives up to her name everyday! She is the Queen in his pasture, the most colorful and has the most dainty little frame. She is phenomenal at her job and loves to have one! She can be found stretched out in the sun with Mariposa and Euro on her time off!
